What other guitars did you look at, and why did you choose this one? I was obsessed with ibanez at the time I bought it. and I have compared it to an ESP LTD of about the same price. I liked the feel of this one better. Would you buy this guitar again if it were lost or stolen? Nah I'm kinda sick of it. Probably going to buy a Jackson or something instead. How could this guitar be better? If it didn' have a crappy floyd rose imitation. What's your favorite aspect of this guitar? The tremolo. The worst aspect? The pickups aren't that strong. Anything else you'd like people to know about this guitar? I wouldn't recomend it for a first timer, because of the the tremolo, which is a bitch. But if you ignore the tremolo its ok.
Price: $430.00 (new)
Features:
?Where was it made? Indonesia ?Body and neck materials? Basswood, maple ?How many frets and what kind? 24 jumbo How many strings? 6 ?What controls does it have? 1 master volume, 1 master tone, 1 switche ?How many pickups and what's the configuration? H-S-H ?Does it have active or passive electronics? Passive ?What kind of pickups? Ibanez stock ?What kind of finish? Black, the color of M-E-T-A-L!!! ?What's the body style (double cutaway, headless, etc.)Deep double cutaway, superstrat ?What's the bridge style (string-thru body, etc.) Tremolo ?What kind of tuners? (locking, non-locking, what brand, etc.) Standard Ibanez tuners, doesn't matter becasue of the floyd rose type bridge
Playability:
It's ok for a guitar of that price. When I first got it, i was only intending to play metal. That was back in my straight up metal days. Before I got into jazz. The bridge I don't really like, it goes out of tune really easily. Its had atleast 3 setups because I keep messing it up trying to fix problems myself. ?Can you obtain your preferred action on this guitar, and what is it? Yes, after like 3 setups ?How does the neck affect your playing? Its so fast! Man it feels like this thing is covered with oil or something! ?How well does it play compared to any other guitars? Its abit heavy, but balances when both standing and sitting. I always get told to "watch that headstock" ?Does it contain any flaws? Not that I know of
Sound Quality:
?What amps and effects do you use it with? ?What musical style(s) do you play and well does this guitar fit? ?Is it well-suited for any other styles? Yeah, I've played jazz, boogie, and pseudo-funk with it. But it looks really ridiculous. ?Is the sound full, warm, dark, etc? Dark and heavy when distorted ?How does the sound compare with other guitars you've played? My S470DX acually is alot more versitile both visually and sonically ?Are there any mods you're considering? Yes, someday stripping down the finish so its just natural. Getting a new bridge for it (schaller floyd rose), DEFINATELY new pickups for sho' ?Is it noisy at all, or in particular situations? Yes, unless i am using a noise gate which i always do now ?Does it seem noticeably better for the stage or studio? Seemed to work ok at talent show and rock camp performances
Durability:
?Is it reliable enough for steady live playing? Yeah, if school performances count ?How often does it need to be adjusted? (truss-rod, intonation, etc.) Haven't adjusted it for awhile ?How are the strap-locks, controls and hardware holding up? I installed di marzio straplocks on it, the same ones used by steve vai himself. Everything's holding up good. Had it for a year and a half, no rusting of hardware, ?How does it fare during climate changes? Seems ok

I love my thin neck! I am not a shredder but I find that I can play faster on this neck then I have on other guitars I have owned.

I use a Behringer V Tone amp. I play nothing but Behringer effects: TO100, NR100, AM100, DD100.
