I shopped around for this model for a long time. I knew what I wanted but had to find the right one. I think I was handsomly rewarded. I know this one is a "keeper". I can't wait to experiment with all it's sonic capabilities i.e. block the whammy bar, different pickups etc.
Model Year: 2007
Price: $0.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Buffalo Brothers (Carlsbad)
Features:
Basic strat features (stock) with a 3 way switch (which I will be trading for the 5 way). Nice soft "V" nech (barely noticable).
Playability:
This guitar fits me like a glove. I tried several of the same model and finally picked the one I have. I'm very picky about how a guitar feels in your hands. This one fit the bill. The gloss maple neck was a little hard to get use to at first but after a week of playing on it... it feels just fine.
Sound Quality:
I mostly bought this guitar for the feel. I'm happy with the pickups and sound (I get a lot of compliments on how it sounds) but I may be changing them out just to see what the guitar can do. There is no reason to, it's just that I can't seem to leave good enough alone, lol.
Durability:
For the last 3 months this has been my "go to" guitar. Hours of practice at home and with my drummer in a practice room. Everything seems to be put together quite well. No whammy bar problems like throwing it out of tune etc. I hope to have this one for a long time.

I actually bought this guitar to give to my daughter when she got older because it was made the year she was born. I was going to have it set up and then put it away in a closet for the next 10 years until she was older, but after playing it a couple of times, I decided to "borrow" it and play it until either I get another one or until I give it to her. I would definately buy another one if it were lost or stolen. I am actually thinking about buying another one for myself.
Model Year: 2005
Price: $1100.00
Where Obtained: Ebay
Features:
This is an American made Fender Stratocaster. It has a contoured alder body. This one has the Ocean Turquoise finish. It has a one-piece maple "V" shape neck with a maple fretboard with a 7.25" radius. The fretboard has 21 frets. It has your standard 3 control knobs, master volume and two tone knobs. It has a 3 way pickup selector which enables you to select between the three American Vintage Strat Single-Coil Pickups. The finish is Nitrocellulose Lacquer. It has a American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo with Ash Tray Bridge Cover.
Playability:
This guitar plays beautifully. The maple neck plays extremely fast and is perfect for blues bends. The "V" shape neck was an adjustment at first, but after a while it was very comfortable to play. It was also set up very well, but I assume the person who had it before me had it set up after he bought it.
Sound Quality:
The sound from this guitar is very good. I use this guitar with several different amps and effects depending on what type of music I am playing. I mostly play blues and this guitar is perfect for that style of playing. The only thing I think I would change is to put a 5-way selector switch in it so that there are more pickup selections. The pickups are a little noisy, but that is what can you expect from single coils.
Durability:
So far it has not had any problems. I don't think the nitro finish will withstand me playing it too much as it is a very thin finish. I have yet to have it adjusted because I feel no need to adjust it yet.
