Being on very tight budget, I checked others in price range Epi's, mex strats, Samick, Ibanez, etc. I would definatly get this one if lost, Im looking to get another M. Kelly in future, may try Valor (Strat style) next. It may be foriegn made (what isn't) but it's well made and to me a great value!
Model Year: 2006
Price: $399.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musicians Friend
Korean Made, Mahogany neck & body, maple top, rosewood fretboard w/22 jumbo frets. 2 volume 2 coil tapping tone pots, H/H paf plus type pups w/ 3 way selector, Les Paul type body w/ set neck, mine is classic white color. Grover tuners, abf type bridge w/ stop tail.
To me it plays great, all I did when I got it was to slightly raise the bridge, (slight buzzing on low E string) and retune! No flaws found, did alot of looking around and checking reviews, no complaints.
I use a digiteck RP80 pedal mostly into head phones (so not to disturb house) and Marshall MG amp. I play mostly for fun, classic rock. It is probably suited for any type you would use a Les Paul Type for, it is very quiet, especially compared to my Squire strat. It seems better than a lot of others in same price range, works well and the wiring inside is very neat.
I have only had for 2 weeks, it stays in tune well, it seems to be a very solid, well made guitar that should last many years.
