I looked for months before buying this Strat. I am a very experienced guitarist and desired something classic. I choose the 60th Anniversary American Stratocaster for that reason. This guitar is exactly what I was a looking for - classic looks, sound with modern additions such as rolled fretboard. I would purchase this guitar again without hesitation.
Model Year: 2006
Price: $1099.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician's Friend
Features:
Made in USA, three-color Sunburst alder body with rosewood rolled fingerboard , 22 jumbo frets, hree American Vintage 57 Strat single-coil pickups (middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity to cancel hum when combined with another pickup), an American two-point synchronized tremolo with stainless steel saddles, Delta Tone circuit, parchment knobs and pickup covers
Playability:
Great action and modern c-shape neck is very confortable to play. This among the best playing guitars I have owned. If there is a flaw, I haven't found it yet.
Sound Quality:
I play through a Peavey Transtube 212 with multiple effects. I play cover and original rock but this guitar is suitable for all styles. The tone is warm using the neck and Middle/neck pickups and dark on the bridge pickup. Its that a true strat and so the player better love the start feel - which I do! It has limited noise with little to no difference when playing live or recording.
Durability:
I have own this guitar for several months and its feels solid. All parts are still intact and since, I monitor climate, no neck or other adjustments have been called for. It is great for live play.
