I have to say that really the best part of getting this guitar was the customer service! Eric, (the owner of Raven West Guitar) is the person you get on the phone when you have a question, order a guitar, or have a problem. If you get his answer machine he gets back to you PROMPTLY. I had reservations about ordering a guitar I have never played, but Eric eased those worries and I will have no problem in the future buying more guitars from him....first I need to sell my Parker and Peavey though! Too bad 5 is all the higher of a rating I can give for this, this guitar and company deserves higher!

Korean made 24 frets. Hollow body electric. 2 humbuckers with 1 volume and 1 tone control, 3 way switch, and Grover tuners. Mine is the Amber Ash model, I've never seen a guitar with an ash top that has this sort of figuring. The best way to describe it is to send you to the website so you can see it. www.ravenwestguitar.com this as well as the other guitars on the site are GORGEOUS! They all have abalone inlays for position markers by the way! The guitar looks like something that would sell for 2 to 3 times as much as I got it for. If the guitar came with push-pull pots set up for coil splitting I would rate this as excellent.
Guitar came with a higher action than I like, but was still playable. After adjusting the truss rod, filing the nut slots, and lowering bridge it plays like a dream. NO fret buzz anywhere on the neck. The fret ends were nicely dressed, and it stays in tune after streching the strings. All the controls work nicely, and it isn't heavy so I don't ache after playing it out at a job.
Sound Quality:
I use this with a Pod xt straight into the mixing board. For Korean made pickups these have a nice tone. I wouldn't say they are right for metal, but classic rock and blues sound fine with them. In my other guitars that I use I have seymour duncan JB and Jazz pups installed. They soung good but I think at this moment I like the sound of the Ravens pups a little more because it has a darker tone to it, it may be because of the hollow body.
I've been playing this out and it holds up just fine, I mean it's not like a 4 wheel drive truck I'm gonna run through the mud or anything! As long as I don't go Townsend on it, she should hold up fine for years to come.
