The Allman Bros did this concert right before they released their "hittin' the note" album. With Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks on gittars, and Oteil Burbridge on bass you just can't go wrong. I've been a fan of Haynes for a long time, but Derek Trucks is a real mind blower on slide. There isn't a bad song on this disc, and even the second disc, which has interviews, etc., is entertaining. There is a little acoustic number done in a hotel room with Trucks and Haynes that is as good as any of the songs on the 1st disc. Sound and picture quality are excellent. I don't want to sound sacreligious to fans of the old Allman Bros, heck I'm one of 'em, but I believe this version of the Allman Bros is as good as the old one. Greg still sounds pretty good. Three drummers are plenty, for sure, but it comes out right. On the second disc, in an interview with drummer Marc Quinones talking about Butch Trucks asking him to play with the Allman Bros...."I'd never heard of the Allman Brothers...we got no Allman Brothers in the Bronx".
