This instructional book, cd, and video series has improved my playing immensely and I use it every day. It is a good system for people that have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of theory and is suited for all styles, but geared toward jazz/fusion. The series is expensive (over $600) but well worth it if you can't afford college or are preparing for it on your own. The worst aspect of the books is the misprints in the text and knowing that you do need to work hard to really learn the concepts. The author was a professor of guitar at the Grove School of Music and is, in my opinion, an educational genius and this method simply proves it. The method gives you a systematic approach to building your image of the fretboard and building your technique in many ways. Get these books!
