London, United Kingdom -- Eric Clapton has set North American dates for his first worldwide tour in a decade, behind his new album, Reptile, which lands in stores next Tuesday. The tour kicked off at London's Royal Albert Hall on February 3rd, and will visit North and South America, and the Far East during its year long run. The summer tour won't be Clapton's only U.S. visit, as a second round of dates will be scheduled for later in the year.
Backing Clapton will be long time associate Andy Fairweather Low (guitar and vocals), along with Steve Gadd (drums), Nathan East (bass guitar and vocals), David Sancious (keyboard and vocals), and Paulinho Da Costa (percussion). Doyle Bramhall II, who co-wrote Reptile's "Superman Inside" with Clapton, and Smokestack will open.
