R.E.M. are in Los Angeles and gearing up to shoot a video for "Imitation of Life," the first single from Reveal, their follow-up to 1998's Up.

Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Mike Mills are ironing out the final script changes with Garth Jennings, who has directed videos for Blur, Fatboy Slim, Badly Drawn Boy and Supergrass, though no specifics about the video have been revealed.

A release date hasn't been set for the single, but the band's label says "Imitation of Life" will be released to radio in either late March or early April. The album is scheduled to arrive in record stores on May 15th.
