Robin Finck Leaves Guns n' Roses

Exits G n' R, rejoins Nine Inch Nails
Posted Aug 3, 1999 at 12:00am
Robin Finck's days with Guns n' Roses -- all 730 of them -- are up. The guitarist who replaced founding member Slash has left the band to rejoin his former group, Nine Inch Nails.

"Robin Finck will be touring with Nine Inch Nails," says a spokesperson at NIN's label, Nothing Records. When exactly that tour will begin is unknown. What is known, according to a spokesperson at G n' R's label, is "[Finck] has finished recording several albums' worth of material with Guns n' Roses and Axl [Rose] is now working on vocals for the album."

Finck reportedly was under contract with G n' R for two years, and that deal expired on Sunday, August 1. Other G n' R "members" drummer Josh Freese and bassist Tommy Stinson are believed to have joined the recording line-up of G n' R after Finck, so the status of their respective contracts, provided similar agreements exist, is unknown. Other group contributors include longtime Rose ally/guitarist Paul Huge and Use Your Illusion I & II keyboardist Dizzy Reed.
