"The Million Dollar Hotel" to feature originals, Sex Pistol cover

U2 fans starving for something new are about to be thrown a bone. A source at Polygram Records has confirmed that the soundtrack for the upcoming Wim Wenders' film The Million Dollar Hotel will include seven U2/Bono songs. The soundtrack is set for a March release, shortly after the film's Feb. 9 debut at the Berlin Film Festival.

The album is said to include two new U2 songs, three Bono solo songs and one cover of Lou Reed's "Satellite of Love," which is a duet with Bono and Mila Jovovich, who sounds like "a young Hope Sandoval," according to the source. The Irish superstars have included a Spanish version of the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the U.K." for the disc.

The first single from the soundtrack will be "The Ground Beneath Her Feet," which was co-written by acclaimed author/Bono friend Salman Rushdie. You can hear a snippet in the movie's trailer at www.million-dollar-hotel.com. A little forewarning, though: the bulk of the site's in German.
