It's based on a traditional country blues riff in "G". We souped it up and layered lots of guitars including a modeled (VG-8) acoustic 12 string in the chorus, and a 3-note pitch shifted guitar "solo".
The main riff is played with your left thumb fingering the bass note over the top of the neck. The right hand is playing the bass notes with a pick but fingering everything but the root.
The idea was not to play the most complicated parts for the song but find the right parts to fit. Lets face it for this type of music most people are listening to the lyric, so we have to come up with interesting parts without walking on the vocals. |
