All instruments are in standard tuning. The song begins with a riff from Rhythm 2, joined by the other three when the drums come in.

"Runners" was performed mostly live in the studio. My guitar solo was recorded separately in two takes, and utilizes the basic A minor pentatonic scale (A C D E G), over the Am - G - F - G form of the song.
