My inspiration for the tune is that I had been playing the main riff for a while, I later built the chord progression around the riff, then the lyrics came. The melody arose because I was experimenting with string skipping, trying to get a wide distinction between tones. This tune features acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. I laid down the drums and rhythm first, then overdubbed the lead and the vocals, and then (after finding a bassist), the bass.

The form of this tune is acoustic intro, main lead riff, verse 1, pre-chorus 1, chorus 1, repeat intro with distortion, main lead riff, verse 2, pre-chorus 2, bridge, solo, chorus out.

The chord progressions are as follows:
Intro: [D Em D/C Bm]
Main lead riff: Em G C/ G Bm/Em G Bm/ C] 2x's [C/ Dsus4 D/ Em/ D/] 2x's
Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus: [Em G C/ G Bm]
Bridge: [Em]
Lead: [Em G C/ G Bm] 2x's [C/ Dsus4 D/ Em/ D/] 2x's [Em G C/ G Bm/Em G Bm/ C] 2x's

In the solo, I used an E minor scale favoring the harmony notes to the chords that are being played in the background.
