Pentatonics

I know there is 5 boxes to the pentatonic scales. But does anyone have a put together one? I keep finding fragmented pictures. Thanks.

Dear Patrick,
Pentaonic is a five note scale pattern. Each note can be the beginning of another pattern within the same Pentatonic Scale. Some people prefer to give each pattern that starts on a different note a different name. For other people it is just starting on a different point within the same sequence. All of the following belong to the same sequencial pattern

C, D, E, G, A, C = same scale as D, E, G, A, C, D = E, G, A, C, D, E = G, A, C, D, E, G = A, C, D, E, G, A.

What ever point of view that works for you, use it. Charlie

The thing I've done for this is to make myself a poster.... I have a diagram - a BIG map of the fretboard - all of the boxes (color coded as they interlace), with the root notes having a different symbol for emphasis, right up there on my wall. I didn't know about Wholenote as a resource then, so I cobbled the chart I made from an odd site here or there. Making my own chart was an advantage because it gave me the chance to experience it viscerally and visually - nail down the relationships in my head and hand. I'd encourage you to draw it out and see if it helps you.
