They're just basic Epiphone pickups, prolly the
same as in the custom and ES-335 models. They're
copies of the Gibson classic pickups, and though
they're close, they're not the same. Still, i used
a Epi LP Custom for years with those pickups and
they worked quite well.

thank! Nate. I was thinking about putting some original gibson humbuckers in it, such as the 490t & 490r or even the '57 classic, any recommendations?

I thought about doing that myself when the LP was
my main guitar. That's a good idea if you really
love the instrument, like you'd still play it if
you could afford a Gibson custom or whatever. But,
the fact is, the other corners epiphone cuts
(woods, mainly) make such nice pickups not as
worthwhile as in a better guitar. Personally, i
found those pickups to be all that i needed. They
really are a good value. If you just want the LP
sound, wait for the Gibson for the new pickups.
That worked for me until Mr. PRS came along a
couple months ago:) ..
