distortion

I am looking for a distortion effect and I have narrowed it down to the Boss MT-2 metal zone or the rocktron gainiac pre-amp. Does anyone know which product has the most distortion and is good for music like slipknot, mudvayne, korn, staind.

I think the Boss metal zone is the most popular metal pedal. i personally have no experience with it. the ganiac pre-amp is a friggin beast! since it is a rack effect, it has lots more power, and it quite versatile. i would reccomend it!

The Metalzone is really cool. But it sounds sorta crappy by itself. Like, I have a metalzone and a big muff, sweet combo for bizkit, staind, etc...

i dont know if you have looked in this direction or not, or even if you want something like htis, but to get a certain "band" sound, you might wanna look into a multi effects pedal with amp modeling, or jsut an amp modeler, i havent decided weather i like staind more through a rectifier simulator, or a marshall stack simulator(coughs*rp-100)

there are alot of things out there, ask around and try them out

P.S. i'm pretty sure that (head or munki) form koRn usues a DOD death metal tho
