Always. I look to playing music full-time while enjoying an early retirement if it ever happens.

I recently heard that an average Aussie needs about $400,000 in savings and about $1.5 mill in superannuation to live a nice comfortable life.

I have like $200 in the bank and earn enough through lessons to live week to week, but he new of how much I need to retire just blew me away.

I cant see myself still teaching or gigging at 80.

The older I get, the less I think about it actually. But I'm in a comfortable position with a job that pays well and a good retirement plan. Our house will be paid off in a couple of years.
The price I pay for that kind of security: some weeks I work 50 to 60 hours in my job ... but on average it's ok, because there are other weeks with only 30 hours.

Stef, people tell me I am a nice guy. Would you be willing to adopt me? I'll help around the house.

I did read something about the Chinese nuts not being too good to eat as they had some chemical in them that caused cancer.

My son plays bass, guitar, sax, trombone, a little piano and violin meanwhile the wife sings slightly out of tune - lol

Nice. From 6 years on, all my son wanted to do was to learn the drums. He's 11 now, has been playing for 4 years (and one year of keyboard in-between).

That's cool! My son is great at the bass as well as the horn instruments. I wish that he would play like he means it. He is a natural but lazy due to electronic gaming. He could really do wonders if he did.

Whats a band with out a guitar player? You could manage the band.lol
