New amp today...
So I got a new (new to me amp today)..a Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue.
It looks pretty near mint, except someone replaced the 10 inch speaker with a 12 (which I wanted to do anyway).
My first amp was a silverface princeton that my dad brought it home along with a nice Aria strat copy one day when I was in 7th grade (about 1985)...It always sounded great, although I wish it had had reverb. Eventually, when I started playing in a band, I needed more volume and I got a 2x12 Peavey with a built in phaser. I used one amp or the other through high school and into college.
I foolishly sold the Fender amp real cheap in 1995. I had bought a bass and was playing a bunch of bass gigs and needed a suitable bass amp...it wasn't long that I began regretting selling the Fender.
So finally, I finally found one...its gonna be my practice/ quiet jazz gig amp...

Don't feel so bad about selling that amp back then, I did the same as well. In fact I traded mine back that I bough used for $60 in the early 80's for a Champ II. Nobody new that these amps would be this desirable today.

How does the reissue compare tone wise to the Silverface, if you can recall? Those Silverface Princeton's are way nice, I had one too.

well, its been a loooong time, so all I have is decidedly unscientific recollections...the 2 biggest differences are that the old silverface was lighter (or I am possibly lazier) and the reissue has significantly more bass available which is likely due to the 12" speaker...
so far I am definitely loving it.
