WN and Youtube Vids

Hey just a quick note to let you know that any Youtube urls you put in a lesson, feedback msg, or Fretbuzz msg like this one will now automatically get converted to the video itself.

You may know that Youtube has their embed html which you can get by right-clicking on any vid and selecting 'Copy embed html'. This usually looks something like:

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QIxEBEhTkUo?version=3&feature=player_detailpage">
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always">
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QIxEBEhTkUo?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360">
</object>

The above html will show the video in a message, of course, but you can also select 'Copy video url' from the same menu (or just grab it from the browser window if you're on Youtube), and if you dump it into the message like so:

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIxEBEhTkUo

it'll render as the video. If ever in doubt about whether or not it'll show up, just hit 'Preview' to check.

The above example is for a Jane's Addiction performance on Jools Holland's show a few years back that I've really been digging lately, so to share it with you all, I just cut and paste the url into the msg and voila:

Whether it's the drop D groove to the little Lydian-flavored bridge, I hope you enjoy!

That's actually cool. Be nice to have a little section here to post our Video Lessons, or video tutorials.
