And on the 4730th day of WholeNote ...

... there were some site changes.

I just finished putting in a reworking of the entire platform. The actual functionality of the site (e.g. the major sections) hasn't really changed (... yet ...), but the foundation upon which the site rests is completely revamped, and should make it speedier and easier to use.

A few things that are currently missing:

  • The Composer -- considering it became inoperative for most members a long time ago, this shouldn't be a total loss. It will be reworked and relaunched in the coming weeks.

  • Search -- there is presently no search functionality on the site (save for the riff search engine) but since the search had become decrepit as well, I'm guessing this may not be a big issue in the short term. It will return, but I thought it was more important to put up a modernized version of the site sooner, even if it was somewhat incomplete.

Anyway, with such change, there are bound to be going to be bugs, so under the 'And More' link at the top, there's a bugs/suggestions link which you can use to tell me what's amiss, should you feel inclined.

In the coming days, I'll be posting a bit more about some of the changes (for ex, the tuner does alt tunings now), so until then ...

Hi Mike,

This was a good catch. Try it now and let me know if it works. I think I found the offending code that prevented it from working in certain versions of IE.

Wow - I had just about given up on Wholenote - I figured Chris was on to brighter and better things.

Hopefully this will lead to a new period of growth and relevancy.

Hey JC,

I had some free time during the early part of this year, so I put in a new foundation and changed the carpeting. If members start to find it useful, I'll add in a bunch of new functionality that's more in line with the current state of the web.

At the very least, a new Composer is coming ...

Aqua ....

Wow, I was so surprised by the revamp that I forgot why I came here. It wasn't anything important, because I haven't been around here in ages and on purpose. I'll have to keep an eye on this.

Ooh! built in spell check. (correcting two run-together words in the paragraph above) Cool.
