And on the 4730th day of WholeNote ...

... there were some site changes.

I just finished putting in a reworking of the entire platform. The actual functionality of the site (e.g. the major sections) hasn't really changed (... yet ...), but the foundation upon which the site rests is completely revamped, and should make it speedier and easier to use.

A few things that are currently missing:

  • The Composer -- considering it became inoperative for most members a long time ago, this shouldn't be a total loss. It will be reworked and relaunched in the coming weeks.

  • Search -- there is presently no search functionality on the site (save for the riff search engine) but since the search had become decrepit as well, I'm guessing this may not be a big issue in the short term. It will return, but I thought it was more important to put up a modernized version of the site sooner, even if it was somewhat incomplete.

Anyway, with such change, there are bound to be going to be bugs, so under the 'And More' link at the top, there's a bugs/suggestions link which you can use to tell me what's amiss, should you feel inclined.

In the coming days, I'll be posting a bit more about some of the changes (for ex, the tuner does alt tunings now), so until then ...

All I can say is: AWESOME!

My suggestion would be to eliminate the open forum. It seems unnecessary especially when the anonymous posters like to mess around.

Otherwise I haven't come across any bugs as of yet.

Thanks

That seems like an idea worthy of a vote. With the new platform, I was able to quickly whip one it. I'll make a new post about it right now ...

Can we get rid of unregistered users posting? If people want to be active on the site they should join up.
