Marshall JVM 210H

Picked up a JVM 210H 100 Watter recently. Totally
badass head. Very versatile with 2 channels that
each have 3 gain structures and individual tone
controls for each channel. I no longer miss my
JCM800.

I love my JC amps. They have replaced my Marshall gear after some mods.

Thanks to Randy for the mod info.

No problem bro. I use mine for the Marshall sound as well. Use the Tweeds for the classic tones. Great stuff!

How have you been bro?

Still got back problems from when I fell off stage on new years eve when the singer grabbed my guitar on her way down, taking me with her on a 8 foot fall. Have a burst disk in the back.

Are you still up for doing the build on a few pedals for me?

Cool. I use on either type of shows depending on the sound I need - even the big ones as they mic me up anyway.

I have not used my Marshall 100 watt since I got my JC 20 watt head as its just as loud for the venues I play where I have to bring an amp.

In a way, I'm surprised that Marshall even makes 100 watt heads
anymore - or any other amp maker for that matter. I guess it's
the same reason that car makers churn out new cars with 600+
hp, like the new Mustang Cobra is gonna' have. Don't get me
wrong, I'd f'n love to have one of those, but it ain't real practical.
Same with trucks that sit 5 feet off the ground, have suspensions
that could drive across the Afghan mountains and massive hp, all
for some guy in a shirt and tie to drive to the office in? So, I just
don't understand 100 watt heads anymore. The biggest amp I
gig with is less than 50 watts, and even that is too loud for many
clubs, so it only gets used for festival gigs where outdoor stages
need a little more stage volume. Club gigs, even in big clubs,
never really need a very big amp anymore. I think some of the
metal clubs we play close by in cities, sometimes still have guys
using bigger amp where they really try to get loud, but usually
it's the PA doing all the work. And most club PA wouldn't stand a
chance against a cranked 100 watt amp and two 4/12 cabs. I see
even you say your main amp is a Deluxe Reverb ( A fine amp,
IMHO). So, what gives? Why does a guy buy a 100watt amp these
days?
btw - I'm not trying to start an arguement, I'm truely curious. I've
checked out some of the videos you've posted and dug the
playing, too. Just don't see where that JVM fits in. And, hey -
that's coming from a guy who still has a few 100 watt 800's and
a pair of plexis stacked up in the music room. I was using a
Power Soak(never, NEVER, buy a Power Soak and use it with an
amp you like!) 25 years ago to rein 'em in. I have no idea what
they're still here for, but I'm not in a hurry to sell 'em. Weird,
huh?
