Not Able To Use Composer

Hi,
I've been a member for seven years. A few years ago I bought a new PC, Windows Vista. Since then I have not been able to use the composer - which I miss very much!
I get two error messages when I click on the "Composer" tab:
1 - Missing Shockwave Decompression X...
then,
2 - Error playing Director movie.

If anyone knows the fix(es), let me know!
Thanks,
Wayne

Yeah, I haven't tried it yet and I have Vista. I'll look into getting Windows 7. In the mean time, do you know where I or how I go about doing tablature like you normally see people use in the computer or internet? Is there a specific program to use in writing tab?

Here's tablEdit:

Here's powertab:

Otherwise try Guitar Pro (which I actually have).
It's really good for composing and learning guitar
based music. It's about $60 I think. Check it out
from Arobas music.

But yeah there's plenty out there.
Hope that helps.

Adrian, thanks for the advice on Win7.

I'm curious about GuitarPro. With it, can I put in a scale sequence and have it play back it back, repeating & different speeds?

Hi Adrian, Erik,
I decided to stop messing with the Composer, at least for the moment.
I purchased GuitarPro 6 and downloaded it last night. Think it will do what I need.
Erik, from what I can see Guitar Pro will convert to tab - check it out, has a demo version.
Thanks you guys,
Wayne
