While I agree with you Adrian, I also have to disagree. That is more in regards to the angry and dark. The musical times of the blues to me share the angry and dark lives of the those individuals who wrote those songs about everyday life. However the music is not percieved that way at all. Take a listen to the lyrics of Boom Boom Out Go The Lights. The first version I heard was the Pat Traver Band. The song was awesome and with a lot of energy. When I got a chance to listen to Little Walter's version, damn that song is pretty evil.

I do have agree with you about speed metal and rap though, yes there are alot of dark material but I am sure there are some items that don't even dwell there. It is just that we are bombarded with the majority of subjects due to association of the genre.

I guess the darkest music in those days was from
bands like Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath. Regardless,
it's not nearly as dark as say bands like Rotten
Sound. No thanks~

Only remember a song or two from Blue Cheer but I used to listen to a ton of Black Sabbath. When Ozzy was the front man only the music seemed dark as they detuned there instruments on some of the songs. Classic was Into the Void where IIRC tuned down to C.

As for Rotten Sound, never heard of them and probably never will as I don't listen much to modern metal anymore. Amorphis is a far as I can go or a song to from Rammstein. They crack me up.

society. It's like punk but with added horror and
