No more Epiphone SST... :( :)
So... a few weeks ago I was raving over the fact
that I bought an Epiphone SST. Don't get me wrong,
I loved that 14 pound guitar.
The problem was... it wasn't my first choice. For
about a year I had been looking at the Yamaha
APX500, just didn't want to spend $300 on an
acoustic (I know, I'm cheap, always have been...
just have other priorities)
Anyway, the Epi SST was $175, so it just made
sense, I could invest that much and not feel
guilty.
ANYWAY...I went into my local shop yesterday and
what was hanging on the wall??? A natural Yamaha
APX500 for $180, including a semi-hard case.
To quote Charlie Sheen... Winning!
Thanks to the performance guarantee, I made the
trade, and I now have my dream guitar. YES!
I put brass bridge pins in it last night for a
little more sustain... nice... very nice.
Now, I'm down to 2 guitars... and I love it!

I had a budget Yamaha acoustic a while back, gave it to a family member - it was a great little guitar for the $.

Yeah... it's not their super low end... it's the
bottom end of the mid range guitars. I love it!
I'm putting on Planet Waves auto trim tuning
machines on it tonight... then it will be right as
rain!

Yesterday , I actually tried out one of their guitars from one of the "get started" packs in a pawnshop.
It had a solid top, and was a great little guitar for the money.
Cinda, you are a fan of those tuners, I will check those out next time I am planning to get tuners... thanks for the tip.

Well done Cinda. That's Karma looking out for you. Karma knew you weren't going to rush out and be greedy so helped you.
Winning purchase and score. Now we need to hear you playing your new Yamaha. Plus I would be interested to hear the brass bridge pins.

Does anyone else think a 14 pounder would make a good sized burger?

You do realize that burger would be almost twice
the size of your average newborn?
I'll make one for you if you eat it...
14 pounds of beef
4 pounds of bacon
3 pounds of cheese
1 pint of catchup
All on a custom baked sourdough bun!

Sound great, but I cant afford to bring you to Australia to cook it for me, so you will have to wait until I get a chance to fly to the USA for work again.
I do think I could eat it if you also provided some sort of drink, say 10 liters of coke.
As it happens I was 14 pounds when born and so was my grandfather. Funny this is I have never changed scale!

Well, if you're craving a slight case of cardiac arrest right there on the spot, then, yeah, sounds great! LOL
There's some restaurants here in the States that actually make these behemoth burgers....And people actually TRY to eat them!
Don't get me wrong, I love burgers as much as the next person, but, 14lbs of meat at one sitting...I think I'd drop dead. :D

Cin, your right it would be a heart attack is one easy step trying to eat that much in one go. I dont think I eat 14 pounds of meat a year.
I did not know that the US has places that sell food that large. Amazing.
