Cat goes nuts

I was learning a new song today on Harmonica in the key of G and my cat went nuts, doing a deep mournful meow and running around the house going nuts. I was rolling on the floor laughing.

Has anyone ever had a pet go nuts like this?

I wish I had a video camera.

Our cats go nuts when my wife makes the fighting sound or plays you tube versions of angry cats. I make a whistle of a bomb dropping and one of our cats will head for the hills once heard.

I have seen dogs do odd things around harmonica music, sometimes I wonder if it hurts their ears!!

Often a dog will howl when he hears harmonica playing.

I've had a great weekend waiting until the cat goes to sleep and then playing a few bars. She springs off the chair or bed and meows like a mad cat and runs around the house until she is too nattered to do it anymore and falls asleep again and we start the whole thing over.

If only I had a video camera you would be laughing your back side off!

I have had a couple of smiliar things with animals and music .

When I came back from living overseas I was staying back at my mums place . she has heaps of trees in the backyard with heaps of birds . Sunny week day and I still wasnt working yet so I grabbed my acoustic and a chair and sat in the backyard to play . At the time Floyd's Goodbye Blue Sky was one of my fav things to play . I started playing it and I swear, and all my friends dispute this story, the birds chirped the vocal melody ,even the change .

After that I just kept playing fingerstyle stuff and the birds were chirping along the whole time

other time I was housesitting for friends for a few weeks. they had a Chihuahua I was looking after . On the couch after the pub just started playing a bit of a real muddy/dark bluesy riff and the dog started growling along . we jammed on it for like 5 minutes . when I stopped she just walked away. I tried a bunch of times to get her to do it again but she wouldnt and again no one believed me

But I swear both happened and they were awesome

LMAO. That must have been amazing having the birds as an accompaniment.

My ex had a bird, a cockatiel, who sang a lot.

I actually sat down one day and played along with him, most of his stuff was in G I think!!

He had a signature riff that he did almost every time he sang.

Poor cat....

Well I am not any better because I would have done that too. I just love it in the morning before I head to work when our two girls just get into a wrestling fight all the time. It is awesome. I miss our boy cat the most as when he gets really focused, you could move an object and he would get spoofed. Then leap into the air a couple of feet straight up startled - lol.

Yep that leap in the air especially form a dead sleep is what makes it so funny.

One student yesterday told me his cat and dog hide under the house when he practices and the dog howls no matter what he is playing.

Another said his budgie (bird) jumps around the cage and tweets more, doing what Matt said about singing along.

from wikianswers:

"Pepe's girlfriends name is Penelope Pussycat. For many years, Penelope remained a nameless character, simply referred to as "the black cat". She was eventually given a name in the 1954 short, "The Cat's Bah", where her master referred to her as "Penelope". The name was later contradicted in the 1955 short, "Two Scent's Worth", where she was identified as "Fifi". In the 1959 short, "Really Scent", she was referred to as "Fabrette". Confusingly, her Mother was named "Fifi".

She remained without an official name for many years, up until "Carrotblanca" (a parody of Casablanca) was released in 1995. Her name was then canonized as "Penelope Pussycat", as many advertisements for the short credited her as "Penelope Pussycat in her first speaking role".
Technically he never had a girlfriend. but the girl he always chased was Penelope Pussycat except in a few episodes. he chased a wild cat, a male cat, and a hairless chihuahua.
While there's not a skunk equivalent in the original Looney Toon cartoons, Penelope Pussycat has been the object of Pepe Le Pew's affections ."

LOL Warren, that's too funny man! My dog was either a musician in a passed life, or the sounds I played just did something to his brain. I remember when I'd play Cathedral by EVH, that I'd run 2 cabs in stereo and have the delays ping pong. My dog would come and hang out with me, and when I played that...his head would go back and forth looking at each cab when the delay would bounce. It was the funniest thing!

He got so good at it, I could set a delay time and his head would move side to side with the pongs! LOL!!! It was funny how he reacted to that and literally kept time looking left, right left right. Hahahaha!

The best was when I'd do pinch harms though. He'd literally howl/cry in the key of the pinch like attempting to cop the sound. That was the best! My friends would come over and I'd say check this out...do a pinch harm with a trem dive, and the dog would howl/whine/cry in key with it and do down in pitch with the trem dive. LMAO! If he would have been able to cop a pinch harm with a pull UP on the bar, I woulda been convinced he was trying to tell me something...but he never did that. Now I wish I had a cam or at least an audio tape of it. I knew there was a reason we named that dog Elton. Hahahaha! :)
