Got my first chance to hear Blackstar amps

Went out last night to see Danzig and DevilDriver up in Milwaukee. (It's a little closer drive then going into downtown Chicago.) The guy from DD was using Blackstar heads and cabs, so I was excited to finally hear them. I can see now what all the fuss is about, they're great sounding amps! Very thick and biting distorion, yet they were somewhat creamy. I'd buy one if I had the money.

Pretty cool! I got to see Danzig down in NYC a few years back...Killer show!

Although, I never got a chance to check out those Amps! Would like to play through one. :)

I would like to actually play one myself. I'm just always concerned with new amp lines. Think of how many amp lines from the 80's don't exist now.

I have a pal who trades gear a lot, and he recently traded some gear and got a Blackstar.

He got one of the smaller ones, but it sounds great! its much like a Marshall, at least thats how it seemed to me when I tried it.

His amp does not have reverb, and he posted an ad online searching for some type of reverb effect. He was actually given an old Digitech rack unit from the 80s, that has a couple buttons that do not work, for free, which is a reverb unit.

Yeah, I've heard the little 5w stack too, nothing remarkable, but then again, I didn't have a chance to tweak it to my tastes. I'm pretty sure the ones DevilDriver was using were the 200w heads. I could be wrong. My God, why do you need a 200w tube amp? That's gotta be able to set off car alarms from a block away!

My friend got the 5 Watter, and a Vox cab in the trade. I think the Vox cab has a larger speaker, a 12 or 10" as opposed to the 10 or 8" in the Blackstar cab.
