A mate of mine has a Weber in his Blues Junior and it sound really warm and kicks when he adds the distortion. I have a Jensen in mine which is a bit more mellow and bluesy to my ear.

Whichever way you go, the Eminence speakers Fender use are not the best and can be replaced easily enough.

I think brother Randy has a Weber box.

Just the head bro. Thinking about a Weber 15" P15N for the amp build though. A friend was planning on giving me a 15" Jensen which needs to be reconed. If that happens, I will just have Weber recone.

I was really disappointed in Celestions going to China, not that the speakers are going to be of lessor quality but the co. seemed to have kept the name brand high price to go along. Anyway I am looking to sell my amp and buy the new fender and change the speakers in it to Weber.

AC do a search for Billm mods and he has a great page that outlines about 15 - 20 different speaker choices for speaker upgrades with a written example of how they differ from each other. Its well worth checking out before you decide on one brand. Also Weber sell many different speaker variations as do most other speaker makers.

You wont be disapointed with the Billm pages.

I am too AC. Basically the main parts of a speaker are the magnets and the cardboard cone. What worries me is quality control of how its put together and the fact the company will make a hugh profit and not pass it on to the customer.

If the cone is not set properly it can be ruptured very quickly. A good cone is always needed!

The Weber speakers are nice sounding. I have played through one at the blues jams where the main amp was a Weber build as well. Warm sound but also not to forget, the amp makes a difference too. Weber also makes speakers that are clones of the classic Jensen line so they also provide a reconing service for broken speakers.

What you may also want to consider is an Eminence replacement because of costs as compared to a Celestion. Gretcsh has new boutique amp called a Playboy which has an Eminence Legend in it. The amp is a custom Victoria made amp for Gretsch. This amp cooks and the speaker sounds great. The legend is designed to emulate an english sound. While I am not a fan of eminence speakers, it is one that I really like the sound.

I know jensen speakers are good, but I'm going toward the weber when the discission comes.
