Apology From An Old Guy
Please understand that I'm not picking on the younger members, I'm just passing my story. Back in the 90's I went from owning a Hofner acoustic since I was 20 to buying my first electric (Epiphone), and joining WN for the first time.
On the last year of the 90's I chose to get a divorce and I happened to be living in the state of Albama. To shorten a story, in Alabama when you divorce a lady that hadn't had a job for 20'some years, she own you as a slave. As a result of the woman that I used to be married to thinking it was her right to enter anything with my name, I had to ignore WN along with anything else bearing my name.
As a result of that, I spent years visiting WN and just reading FretBuzz without loging in. Eventually I got to the point where I gave in to the thought of registering by using a different name.
The bad part of that, and the reason why I'm writting this, is the recognition of all the names that I've known since the 90's. Some of which have been guys and gals that I've shared a topic with and made comments on. Some of them now have comment numbers in the thousands compared to the few hundreds that I came close to.
I just wanted to tell all you old guys and gals that you have been appreciated for a long time, and that even someone joined recently is aware of the great part you have had inside of WholeNote. :-)
Henry

No apologies necessary, at least not on my part. Sorry to hear that you that you had a rough time. I haven't been here all that long, but if I can help with anything music related, don't hesistate to give a shout.
Happy New Year!

Henry,
I too am divorced and I know how the law/courts can treat a woman so much better than a man all the while claiming to be a fair and neutral party. What BS.
Welcome to WN as yourself and hope you will hang around here and post more often. As you would know, its music we mostly talk about here but you will always find a friend when you need 1 or 1000.
Write a song about your experience and play your heart out.

Welcome back Henry. Forget the past and play on brother. I left for about 5-6 years for other reasons and have returned as well. I am sure you have some great things and stories to tell in your adventures - Guitar, music and non-related. Cheers Brother!!!

Guys and gals, I wanted to thank those that have responded to my first comment because you've suppported the thought that bouncing back is possible. When I sort of coached people trying to learn raquetball I used to try to pass that message "disappointment in ourselves" can be overcome.
I also just wanted to add a discovery that I think someone else will understand. Inspite of bad things going on in our lives sometimes we can find a piece of magic. My magic came in the form of a grandson being born. A boy that suddenly makes anything else happening in our world seem completely unimportant. I wasn't expecting that to happen ever, so when it did, it also sent the message that perhaps we think we know more than we really do. Oh well, I gotta go now because the boy needs someone to go ridding a bike with him.
You'all take good care! :-)

Congrats on the grandchild bro! Isn't life the most wonderful thing in the world? A love like no other. Dude - you have to get that grandchild a geetar so he can play copy cat. That's how you will get your chops back without really trying.
Cheers!

I've stashed my axes in their cases a few times over the years...never did get back to the same place I was in my playin', though...always ended up in a new place.
I got 2 grandsons and a granddaughter.
They need somebody to strum 'em to sleep at night...
