Where guitar picks go to die

I had to clean out the lint trap in my washing machine. Not so much a trap, more like disassemble the machine, take apart the pump, pull all the smelly, slimy goo out of it, try to put it back together again without the special tools really required in all kinds of uncomfortable positions with cramps. etc...
I did find a whole bunch of guitar picks, though. I wondered where they all went. But they were kind of nasty. I don't know if I want them back that badly!

I found them in the washing machine drain pump. My wife said the washing machine wasn't working one day and I had to disassemble and take a look why it wasn't working. Well low and behold a pick or two was being used by the washer to play water (lol).
I assembled the washer and all was good.
Other than that, the thinner ones become neck shims in bolt on guitars. |

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me. My wife said the washer wasn't working. Had to open the drain pump and pull them out. Got some coins out of it, too. Not enough to make up for the effort, though!

I think guitar picks should be studied for quantum physics since they seem to vanish to an entire different plane of existence once dropped. |
