For the first time in I don't know how long (I really don't - I click on my messages and it says "No such member exists") Wholenote is not my home page. It just seems like nothing is happening here anymore. This was once my favorite place on the web. Times move on. Still it is kind of sad. The end of an era.

What a trip! I can't believe the site is still up at all. This place was a daily stop for me since the late 90's. Having a job in the industry kind of killed my drive to talk shop on my "off" time. Most of the lesson's are still here and as mentioned there are some really helpful resources... I stopped back in to use the tuner!!! LOL

This is still a well laid out site... and that says alot as it's pretty darn old!

Anyways, cheers guys! Glad you are still all here...

Mike

I've been on here for years, and really enjoy talking to guys like Randy, Chris, and my bro with the Ibanez and the Corvettes. Plus numerous others! You know who you are.

That being said, I've been begging for someone to update the site for years. It's still laden with the same Boss efects, the same ad banner, the same "Many hats of Troy..." and so on. It's a shame. Can someone get on this?

Thanks Michael! I ditto that as well in being able to talk CP, CBII, yourself and many others. It always cracks me up when I log on and see the Hamish Stuart article is still there.

Yeah I do. I'm about to upgrade to the Pod X3 Live, so I haven't upgraded anything in my XT Live. Everything is included with the X3. Run stereo in the loop of my Duoverb head, it should be pretty incredible.

I gotta find some time to sit with the farm. Looks pretty cool being able to record direct into DAW. This might just be the key to get me recording my own stuff again after a 12 year layoff.

Hope you come back Mike. I was here around late '99, stayed for a few years, disappeared for 3-4 and came back about 3-4 years ago. It has been great. We need all the old timers to come back and make the place happening again!

I recently defected here from another board that had really died out. Hardly any posts at all.

Until about 4 years ago, I taught lessons in a music store, and now I teach out of my home. I didn't realize part of what I loved about teaching in the store was just being in the environment everyday- talking shop, sharing licks with each other, the friendly debates over gear and guitarists. Like the old geezers in the barbershops.

So now I come here for my "shop talk". I gotta get my fix somehow....

That's Cool Dan! I used to teach guitar in Hawaii where I am from. Did it from 85-88 while I worked a full time job and played weekends. In 88 I went back for my last year of college. Quit my day job, taught lessons 3 days a week (14-20 students) and played full time in Waikiki.

Moved to LA and went MI. The rest is playing Hollywierd, gigs here and there while holding down a full time job. When my son was born 15 years ago I slowed down and just played part time when I can.

Like you I enjoy talking shop. Can't go to the stores anymore as all of them are kids and I do not relate. My son relates better to me because he has learned alot from me.

Besides the guys who have remained and rejoined have been really fun to talk too. And yea, you gotta have that fix.

All in all this is a great site! From time to time the discussions get hijacked by individuals who are only looking out for themselves or are seeking attention, but there are many interesting discussions on here as well.

There are also a ton of great lessons!
