OK Folks, now "I" need your help!

OK, so...As you all know, I'm just starting to learn some theory, (wooopie) and well, I need some help.
I'm using the song "Hello Goodlbye" from the Beatles as my project. And I'm wondering if I have this right, or am I WAY off base!
Please go easy on me, as this is my first time working with this stuff!!!!!
I'm trying to put the Roman Numerals to the Chord Progression on this song. This is how I have it written, could someone please tell me iof this is correct, or did I fail miserably. It's OK, I can take it! LOL

I
C
I say no
V
G
You say stop,
vi
Am
And I say go, go, goooooo
Now, I know the song starts with an F chord, but, does that mean the song is in the KEY of F??? If it does, then my Roman Numerals are not correct, right???
Man, I'm so confused.......

The song is not if F major as there is a G major chord . To me the song is in F lydian which is made up of the same notes and chords as C major
So to me it would be a I - V- II- III in F lydian
The 1st chord doesnt always dictate the key though in pop music it often does |

You are correct with the numbers. If you'd like, I can email a sheet that I use in my guitar lessons that has all of chords that go together in a key (diatonic). Once you figure out the chords to a song, you can look at the sheet and see what key it is by process of elimination.
Unless a song modulates, it usually ENDS on the I chord. (probably more often than starting on it)
Also, there is a great book called " Nashville Number System" by Chas Williams. He explains it in a very simplified way. The Nashville system is just short hand way of writing down chord progressions by the numbers. The more you chart songs out like this, the more you'll begin to realize the common chord progressions. The book also contains charts written by the studio guys so you can see how they do it. |

Thats pretty cool of you to learn some theory. I think some advanced musicians believe its not needed or will keep them from sounding fresh and funky, but I think you will find things that are applicable to what you want to do.
Speaking of Beatles and theory, many years ago I read a book about theory that was titled " Music theory from Bach to the Beatles" or something like that. I learned a lot from it, and you may find it useful too. |

I pulled up a lyric sheet with chords from the net and the V chord is a V7 (dominant chord). The have the song in a different key the but the chord progression is the same. I say the song is in the key of "C" (based on the chords you have listed) starting on the IV chord. |
