When the music comes first, I have to make sure there is a credible melody within the music before I even attempt to write words for it. Music for the sake of music just doesn't cut it for me. If there is no hook and something just sounds cool for the sake of being a good riff, I'll archive it and work on it another time or use it in something else. But I never sacrifice a hook for the sake of "wow this is a killer riff!" :) Danny Danzi
