The rules?

Enter a chord or 2... the next person to post must enter 1 or 2 chords that follow in sequence, or a passing phrase.

It might help if people participating would include chord names.

Interesting... but to some degree then people would rely on theory and just write what was theoretically next based upon theory.

Not adding the name either forces people to spell it out or move out of their comfort zone.

A prolific American songwriter named David Crosby of Crosby Stills and Nash would frequently come in, retune his guitar to some non-standard tuning to share a song he was working on... it's an interesting thing to force you to depend on your ear and not theory...

just for funzies...

This game is kind of interesting - I listened to the chords that are posted. I don't know how to create chords on here. Once I figure out the chord creation on the site, I will post some.

To some extent, my experience with the mandolin is a bit like Crosby and the non-standard tuning. It forces me to use my ear a bit and not use those "tried and true patterns" I know on the guitar.

When you get ready to post you'll see tools underneath the text box... it says:

Insert Chord Chart
or
Insert Scale/Sequence

No theory other than the tri-tone sub. The concept for me was to keep the melody the same on top - the G# or Ab. After all we don't have a melody line yet.

Take away the guitar geography and view these voicings as they appear on the stave. You will get a much different perspective.

Adriano - the chords are F7#9 going to E7 doubling the third. F7#9 is a tritone sub for her original chord and is used as a passing chord. E7 can be the I for Cinda's original Bdim5 add13.

Wouldn't it be simpler to call the chord an Abm6 or an Fm7b5 or a rootless Db7 instead of Bdim5 add13.
