Dear friends,

I do not come to Wholenote as I did some years before, but I can observe there is normally a reasonable number of users online, but Fretbuzz has a small number of postings...
What happened in my absence?
Cheers,
Antonio

I was wondering that myself.....

I guess (like myself) we get busy, life gets in the way, sometimes you need a break from the internet...I know I do!

Seemed like a few months ago, we were getting a bunch of posts, and seemed like it was coming back for a while, and then it dropped off like crazy, all of a sudden!

And, I don't know of too many musician forums like this on the internet????

My guess is some folks are just burnt, and are taking a break. ??????? I guess????? hehe :)

For a while there were a lot of trouble makers here. A lot of members simply got sick of it and left. It was a real mess for some time.

I'd like to start seeing some folks back here again. I really like the website, and the forum. We have all met some really cool folks here, and have gained some really nice friends. I know I have.

Not to mention.....Man, we used to have an absolute BLAST here at night. There were some real laugh-fests here! There were times I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe!

I've been off learning how to play like a guitar player. It's been an interesting journey.

When I first started playing I was far more musical.

Then I started learning theory and got stuck - became much less of a musician, but could play along with almost anything that I heard on the radio from a rhythm guitar perspective.

Then I couldn't write anything to save my life that was worthy.

Then I threw everything out the window and started over again...

THEN I hired a guitar instructor who is teaching me to solo properly, and as a result, the musicallity has returned... so I'm enjoying the instrument far much more these days.

How have you been?

I hate to say it, but for the most part I think the site has just imploded.

Kind of sad. The old wholenote was something to behold.

Hey Chris,

Weird, because my friend works for another well-known guitar-related "community" website, and he said things are extremely slow over there, as well.

So, maybe it's not just Wholenote???

Well, summer happens, for one thing. Lots of us don't spend nearly as much time on the net when its nice out. So as Chris says, its not just WN.

Been around here since 2001 or so, and still pop in as much to see your ol' names that I recognize, as much as anything. Have made great friends on here, and learned that yeah, I can enjoy reading weird and obscure arguments about theory!

Keep on plugging, fellow players,
Craig

Hey Craig,

That's true......All Summer I've been doing stuff OTHER THAN logging onto my computer.

I'm on a computer all day long at work, and now HATE being on it at night after I get home. hehe

Like you, I'm always popping in on a daily basis, so, I havn't left either. I still enjoy hanging here. I guess I feel comfortable here.

lol!

I've 'searched' in the fretbuzz alot, and I can just imagine. some cool cats back then.

most of us newbs don't post, and 'the few' older guys seem like it's all been said. before you started posted vid clips, nobody was. a few AAT's maybe. same 5 or 6 players. Pinto, Kent, Maag (where did he go anyway), Germ, Jim, Chief, Norm...

I wish I'ld have know that guy named Stone Dragon
