Anybody checked these things out?
They're fashioned after some older models of Fender gittars, but with more modern design. 9 1/2 inch radius, medium jumbo frets (good fretwork, no rough edges).
A few years ago, I wouldn't've let ya in the house with a f'n Squier gittar. But I was reading some reviews on the Fender Forum about 'em. Went down to the music store and tried one out. I'm tellin' ya, they got a neck that's slick as snot. I ended up buying one of the Duo Sonics...24 inch scale thing, 2 alnico single coils. Later on I bought a CV 60's Strat with a rosewood fretboard. Same thing, a neck that's killer and fretwork comparable to a USA Strat. Lookin' at the CV Tele now. I hesitate to say "good deal FOR THE MONEY". I think they're a good deal, period.
G/F asked me, "How many gittars do ya need, anyway?"
Just one more, sweetheart. Heh, heh.
Later, Edd

I got the Telecaster last September. It is the only guitar I have that I have changed a thing on. |

I know the feelin', bro...was gettin' up at 4 AM every morning for 10 days to go fishin'.
The Tele is the one that's been gettin' a lot of the raves. As far as I know it only comes in white?? Which is cool for me, if so... I got every other color but white, lol. I've yet to play one, though. The music store I frequent should have some more of 'em in soon.
And I think the body is made outta pine, right?
I'm tickled with the way mine sound. I'm like you, I like to swap p'ups, tuners, whatever...but so far I'm satisfied with the way they are. |

Squier may produce a Mustang, but not in the CV series. Yeah, the 24" scale on the DuoSonic is cool! Pretty bendy, fer sure. Still got some spank to the sound, though. I doubt that mine weighs more than 6 1/2 pounds. Only one color...a tan color, probly called "Sierra Sand" or something. Tan. Pic of it on my page here.
Randy, I've heard about the 80's Squiers, never played one. I did try a Tokai Strat, but I think that's something different.
Fun gittars. Solid sound, great necks. I'm not gonna compare them to $1500+ gittars...what's the use? (Not that spendin' big bucks is fer sure gonna get ya a great ax) These things deserve a look/play, even if ya ain't in the market for a gittar. |

Ain't tryin' to sell ya one, bro R.
I play around with everything at the music store...Epi's, Gibsons, Fenders, Jacksons, Godin, etc. Got no mind of buying, generally speaking, just like foolin' with 'em. I'm a Fender man, and thought the necks and action of these was worth mentioning.
Better than a Xiphos gittar case, lol!
Be cool, m'friend.

I wonder if they make a Mustang? I will check that Duo Sonic at my local shop - those short scales are pretty cool. |
