Bit by bit am doing more work on an old guitar that was given to me. Harmony neck plate, strat shape, no pickguard, HSS setup. Lots of metric parts on it. Has a pointy metal-style headstock. Could be a Harmony - not sure.
I have the neck and headstock refinished, and have polished up some of the chrome parts. Just reinstalled the tuners. Someone put Grover tuners on it, so thats a plus! Not sure about what I will do with the pickups in the final scheme - body needs a lot of filling and repainting, and controls went in from the back ( rear routs)
Body shape & contours and most routing is a close match to my MIM Strat!
I got a set of 2 Fender string trees, the ones that are used on the American series Strats. I put one tree on my MIM Strat, and the other on this superstrat. This type of string tree is a big improvement on the old butterfly type, and helps the Strat stay in tune better. (the tree and the graphite I put in the nut, that is) Tree is working fine on the old superstrat, which is good, it has a funky angled pointy headstock. |
