You got to hang with Mikael?
.........DAMN YOU!!!!!!! hehehe
Man......Mikael rocks!!!!!!
Actually, Mikael was cool enough to email me back, one day. I had written to him about his gear, and such, and lo & behold, I get an email back from him, the same day!
I was curious about how he likes his Laney amps, and he wrote me this really nice long email regarding the topic.
I doubt many big name musicians actually take the time to do this, or even read their emails.
Very cool of him.
Luckily, the last NAMM show I went to, I got to meet Michael Wilton & Chris DeGarmo (Queensryche), including many other cool cats....
Unfortunately, the last NAMM show I went to was back in the late 80's.....still cool, though!

Well, the video will take some time to decode and upload and all that but here's a breakdown of NAMM 09.
Yes, Mikael and Fredrik were VERY humble and gracious. M actually turned beat red when I told him how much it meant to mt to have met him. I don't think they feel they deserve all the attention.
Friday night we went to our second "Wimbash", a jam hosted by Doug Wimbish, bassist from Living Color and sponsored by Peavey. On the bill were, Alex Skolnik who came with his jazz trio, Rusty Cooley who just shredded, Gary Hoey, Devin Townsend, and a guy I'd never heard of from the east coast named Rob Balducci. That guy was friggin awesome.
Saturday night's entertainment began with a show sponsored by Ibanez featuring Andy Timmons playing a 1 hour set opening up for Paul Gilbert. Next was a Racer X reunion. Very cool show. We walked back to our hotel and caught a set by Puddle of Mud, then got to see Dread Zeppelin play. My ears (and liver) were done by the end of the night. Excellent music all weekend. I will post up some video when I can figure out how the heck to do so. |
