I remember a time when there was a couple hundred messges posted a day. This site I fear is just archaic.

Its tecnology is ten years old. State of the art in its day, now a buggy amongst automobiles.

Tecnology that now exists-

For lessons/instruction:

Platform that can understand direct plug-in from guitar, create tablature/standard notation in real-time.

For member interaction:

Live video feed between members. Several memebers actually playing at once. Making the site accessible for all players, including drummers and bass players. In other words, you could rehearse/jam as a band in realtime, from different locales.

For self study;
Realistic backing sound and groove creation. A simple archive of conventional information that can be followed in block format similar to curricculum taught throughout.

Soon such a site will be available, but I doubt it will be this one.

This site would be perfect for those kind of features. It is ranked #1 on Beesker.

Let's not forget that this site and Active Bass were in actuality lab experiments for social intereactions on the net. A great many members left after "Ma Geezer" let the cat out of the bag.

I ould be extremely suprised if this site will ever recieve any meaningful upgrades as it's job is over...

Yeah, I remember that...or rather forgot about that.

What were the specifics again?

Chris,
I guess that those of us who were not upset about it remember little about the details. Those of us who were not upset are still here.

I seem to remember that it was a graduate program in creating and manipulating internet communities. I have no idea what it was going to be applied to.

I agree. Granted with the way blogging and the way numerous communities have headed, the practicality of this site has kept it simple and easy to work along with good tenants. Why else would I keep visiting???

The United States has been called "The Great Experiment". Uh-Oh, all us Americans better pack up and leave!

Seriously, what's wrong with being part of a successful experiment? Being part of a failed one could be a drag, though, depending on the circumstances.

Sometimes in life, worrying about the new lows brings forth newer lows.

Yeah, no upgrades to the site of significance expected by me. I still enjoy logging on though, and reading folks I remember, the testy theory threads, and hearing about the fresh concerts. And so forth. Meeting old and new friends.

I sure don't blame any web sites for me not having learned anything very new lately.

Wish I personally had something new to add, but at my age, I am ecstatic just remember where middle C is on the piano....crank out a few jazz chords not in the books, etc. I appreciate you contributers and reading other entries.

Wow Bill. Those are some great photos on your site. I would like to discuss medium-priced Nikon stuff with you. Pick your brain, as it were. I have a couple old F bodies for sale, 35mm, wonder if they are worth anything on trade?

Especially good job with the critter shots, enjoyed them plenty.

Actually, it was one of the low-end faithful from ActiveBass who happened across that research reference while looking for something else, as I recall. I was just the messenger for it.

See, I do lurk, even though I don't say much anymore . . . :)
