Buzz Feiten tuning system

OK folks,

Anyone here use it, used it, or tried a guitar with it?

I'm thinking of going for it, on my strat, tommorrow, but, just thought I'd ask....

Man, I'm just tired of some chords not sounding 100% correct.

This kinda sounds sorta like a guitar neck I had about 30 years ago. The string height was determined not by the nut but by the nut fret. There was the nut that was for spacing the strings and a fret maybe 1/8" away from the nut the same height as the other frets so there wasn't any extra string travel. It may have been a Framus guitar. My rythum player has this problem his first posision D is really out of tune. Instead of just touching the frets I think he squeezes the strings too much.

Yeah, I guess I'm just going to wait to get them both at the same time. The music store is not that close to my house (45 min drive one way), so, I'll just wait until they're both done.

He runs a busy store, and he's a close friend of mine, and rather than rush him & keep bugging him about them, I'll wait.

He treats me "right" with prices, so, if it takes a little while longer, that's fine by me.

please lemme know when you get them. can't wait. on another note, you hooked me up with a fellow a number of years ago and I bought a dillion from him. when i got it i realised it had single coil, soapbar pickups, so i immediately got some gibson double stacked singles to get that hb sound i want. the guitar got swiped in a burglary, along with a bunch of tools and other guitars, etc., anyway, i found it in a pawn shop, and some of the other stuff, a small rickenbacker amp, and my roland guitar synth, at a local music store, anyway, i'll be getting most of the stuff back, the music stuff anyway, now i am without tools, had a whole set of those ryobi portable sckilliwaggin battery thingamajigs which i really cannot identify. I have about 30 guitars including the basses, and i never take down the serial numbers, i know my guitars from the dings and colors and everything else about them. sure, I have given strats away, gibsons, even a framus akeustic, i just do that. some crack heads, and i found out who one of them was, got into the house and swiped alot of my gear, i guess i just had to tell you how upset i am about it, but i'm getting most of it back.

Man, that's a real bummer......That's awful when something like that happens....Talk about feeling "violated"....jeeesh!

BUT, I suppose getting most of them back is good, yet, never having them stolen in the first place, would have been better.

But, I guess all is not a total loss...

PS: The BFTS is simply awesome! I never thought a guitar could be so awesome to play by simply installing this system! Geesh, I wish I had done this years ago!!!!

It's EXCELLENT!

A complete JOY to play that guitar now! LOL

The day I picked it up, I played it for 2 seconds (before taking it home)..and actually started to laugh out loud!

Funny, because all the salespeople there said that EVERYONE who has the BFTS installed, all laugh when they play their guitar for the 1st time.

ok, so it makes you laugh. but why? what makes this system so unique, and pleasse try to give us some pics closeup. I guess Jim H has had this for awhile and I am getting more interested, would love to hear you playing it, how can it make that much of a difference. I love that Floyd Rose gitar that has the speed system on it, and to me it stays intune, I had not picked it up for months and it was still in tune. Can yer new system be put onto an FR guitar?

oh and yeah, the jerko who stole my guitars is going to be prostituted to the big fat guys named bubba in the seminole county jail, just as soon as they git him, but the dern pawn shop is keeping the items until i either pay them 200bucks, which i dont have, or get a court order, which sounds easier to me.

Well, it's weird.....I laughed because for the past 27yrs of playing I was always angry about how poorly intonnated guitars are.

I hate playing a barre chord on the 9th fret and having it sound lousy.....UNTIL NOW!

Play an open G chord, and the guitar sounds great, but then play an open D chord and the guitar sounds crappy!

The BFTS basically takes care of all of this crap!

That's awesome Chris. The other guitar player I play with had it done and he loves it. His guitar doesn't stay in tune all the time (strings - others, don't know) but he swears by it in reference to chords. For the most part I never had to many issues. My guess is the G-B string interval (M3) is the greatest savior of this type of system. I really don't know.

Hey Randy,

Yeah, well, you still have to tune the guitar every now & then.....that's obvious.....but, like you mentioned....it's the "chords". That's where you notice the difference.

When you have the guitar in tune, everything sounds great! Even way past the 12th fret everything still sounds amazing!

Unfortunately it is a little radical. It's like having a bad trem setup. Dive bomb once and it is out.

This is where I would be interested. And like you said, above the 12th fret does make a difference.
