Rust on my pick

Rusty because I've had a slide on my finger lately and haven't been spending enough time with my regular picking.

This is a short jam, just over 2 minutes, with a guy from the UK that likes to play the blues.

The first two turnarounds are mine, and the second two are his.

Great bluesy tone and ideas, Lisa! The blues is all about feeling and it is something that is hard to come by in my opinion. You definitely are going in the right direction. Also, the backing track is very nice too!

Thanks for taking the time to listen to it, you guys, and for commenting. I appreciate it!

I've tried twice to use the userplane thing, but for some reason all I could hear of my playing from my headphones was an endless echo. Everyone else was having a ball! I may have even muttered a dirty word or two, lol. I'm willing to give it another try, though.

Funny... I'm sure it had to do with the settings or maybe someone else was creating the echo. I set that up a long time ago but have not been there for quite a while. Glad to hear it is still in use! :)

Yeah, it still gets used. There's a Sticky on it at JS. Your site is famous, lol.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I was playing through my TonePort. They could hear me ok on their end. ?? I'll give it another try when I have some time.

To be honest with you, it has been over 6 months since I fooled around there. I once jammed with Kirk Lorange using the system. We have done lots of add-a-tracks together but to play live with him was so cool! I'll never forget that. Me in California and Kirk in Australia! I think we were both smiling ear to ear. :)

Hope you can figure it out. It is pretty neat to jam with someone you track with. Takes on a whole new dimension.

I'm not familiar with JS? What does that stand for?

It's a guitar oriented website. Bob, Chief, and some others from here hang out there some of the time. Lots of music posts and opportunities for collabs with other players.

clicky

Looks like the music posts are starting to pick up here, too. Which is a GOOD thing!

Hey Lisa,

I just ran over to my live jam site and had to try to figure out how to set up (over again). Anyway, I found the problem you were having. Under the audio setting I think where you enable audio there is a checkbox that says reduce echo. I was having the echo problem just like you and when I checked it, it was gone! :)

I'll check on the site you just mentioned. I have not seen the Chief for a long while!

Thanks,

Jim

I can't believe it! I think the last time I looked there were about 20 users on the live jam site. I just looked tonight and there were 201 registered! I'm glad to see some people still kicking it around.

I guess I've been a bit busy lately to not notice...

The key to Jim's site is to make sure you are not plugged into a "mic" line in. Reducing the echo can't help ya, if you are.

Or, if someone else is plugged into their "mic" line in, it ruins it for everybody.

Stay away from that mic input on your pc soundcard, you'll be fine!

Cool tunage, by the way Lisa! Always enjoy your playing.

I may swing by Jim's Live Jam a bit later tonight....
