When I heard it by a friend I was feeling too upset to log in here
on WN first. And I thought that it maybe better to just to stay
away from that place... that place that's sometimes flaming him
and me too ...

But when I remind all that communication Charlie and I had and
how he supported and treated me with my efforts to get written
down a simply line of americanese words that makes sense for a
musician and human as well...

... my first posted lesso here was called "Pimp up your
Pentatonic".... I changed it into "Colour you ..." after Charlie drop
me a note ;)

In his sense of the WN spirit:
I call Charlie one of my musical DAD's!
He gave me once the permisson to use his stuff in my books and
stuff... Just for a credit to tell that he was involved! So I stored a
lot of his work in my library and in my mind.

I guess that I have some hundreds of PM's and Mails on my HD
where we were discussing or talk about the garden, music,
politics or the weather... I know that we are different but that's
what we'd show as how it works... No matter that I am may
looking for someone as a rotten and something else....

....I simply loved Charlie and I still do and will.

This is very sad news....I havn't been around in a while, and then, as soon as I come back for a visit, I learn of Charles' passing.

He meant a lot to this community, he gave a lot to this community, and to all of us.

Charlie was an incredible teacher. There is a complete musical education in the lessons he published at WN. RIP Charlie.

I talked with Warren, his son, about that. I mentioned that he could maybe make it a project to pull the stuff off the web and publish it in a book or some format. If not do it himself, then perhaps get someone that could do it over time. And also, not just for the monetary aspect, but sort of a Legacy of Charlies.

Yeh, He'll be missed.

I had corresponded with Charlie about that same topic several
years ago. I asked him if he was interested in copyrighting and
publishing his work. He seemed interested and I sent him some
info, but I don't think he ever followed up on it. I think it would be
a great idea for his family to save all his work here as some type of
book, whether it was published or not.

The first people to contact about this would be the site owners here at Wholenote. Reason being is that they could export all Charlie's lessons from the database so that they could be more easily compiled into text. It would be a simple matter of an SQL query to export to a csv.

Just a thought...

I missed this as I have not been here for quite some time. I'm sure going to miss Charlie. I wish I could have heard him play. Thanks, Andrew for the note about the services on the 15th. I'll be sure to send my condolences to the family.

Charlie left quite a legacy here and probably touched many lives we will never know. He will be missed. He will be remembered.
