any recommendations? i was looking at the celestion blue but that was pretty pricey. im lookinig for a speaker that can give a great clean tone, but works well for using effects. i use a mxr dist + and an electro-harmonix big muff pi to get overdrive and distortion sound, so i dont need natural amp distortion, but it needs to be able to hande my pedals well. mainly though im looking for a real good clean tone, think fender twin-reverb sound.

Chad,

Jensen make a great 12" speaker for the BJ. Its called a P12N speaker. This is what I have been using for years and years in my 2 BJ's and the sound is SO MUCH BETTER than the standard Fender speaker. I suggest you also buy the Bell Cover (fits on the rear of the speaker) as this seems to help the projection some what.

The speaker and bell cover direct from Jensen is about $200US.

what about the celestion vintage 30? its supposed to be an update
on the celestion blue. plus, its 100 bucks cheaper and has great
reviews on musicians friend.
