My pick would be "Let It Bleed".

Everyone has their opinions about The Stones, especially with regard to their pop/rock legend status.

I wonder, if it were possible to separate out their blues music, how would it stand up.

What are your thoughts on The Stones as a blues band?

I've always considered The Stones a rock or pop band. They did record some blues covers but none are memorable.

They started out as a strictly blues cover band. They idolized Muddy Waters; most of the band was on the London Howlin' Wolf Sessions. I can still hear the blues in a lot of their music, including A Bigger Bang. I keep saying the only way I'd see them now is in a small club where I bet they'd be one hell of a blues band, all stripped down and naked, like the blues should be!

"Sympathy for the Devil", IMO, is the Stones at their best. The song's got ENERGY.

I'll toss another one up for "Sticky Fingers".

Dead Flowers, Sister Morphine, Can't You Hear Me Knockin', You Gotta Move, Sway?

Great stuff... ...can't beat it, IMO.
