so is there a special kinda amp or some such that u use just to out an effects processor in

That'll work. All you need is a power amp. 50-100 watts is plenty,
but you could use a bigger one if you had one.Just don't overpower
your speaker cab(s). If the amp is stereo and you have two cabs,
you can take advantage of the stereo effects.

Keep it dead low to start till you see how loud it will go before it starts.
