I tried it and I came up Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page second. I strongly disagree! I think whoever came up with this needs to put more guitarists and questions in their poll.

Not that the results weren't flattering but, I ain't like any of those guys. Jimi and Jimmy were some major influences back in the day but I'm talking thirty years ago.

If I can't come up Merle Travis, I don't wanna play any more.

You are just one component of music. The spotlight is your home, but only if you've have your Jack Daniels for the day. Lay off the drugs and fourteen-year-olds. You have good talent, and you don't want to waste it by doing stupid stuff now.

I guess I'm Jimmy Page too. Been playin' bass too long (not really an excuse though).

You play from the heart. You also deliver a great show anytime. You have skill, but you really don't like to show off. You let the music come in second to the visuals of the show. You prefer to play with people who know what they are doing.

I disagree with music coming second to visuals - otherwise, I'd probably BE Gilmour.

You and JimH and I are all on the same page on that issue, and I don't mean Jimmy Page.

Zack VanSchoyk is the guy who came up with this thing. My guess is he is probably in his 20s and hasn't heard of Merl Travis.

It seems a lot of the "young'uns" out today listen to classic rock, so they're familiar with Zeppelin and Pink Floyd , but they seemed to have stopped their learning at that era. They listen to the newer stuff Like Delong with , what is it? Blink 82 or something like that (no offense to Delonge fans, I'm just not familiar with their stuff)

I know a couple of kids at our church that are learning to play and they are into Zeppelin big time. Then they'll talk about some "new" psychobilly band......Hello!! Early stray Cats!?

I turned two of them onto Setzer's early stuff with the Cats. They went nuts!

So, when someone here mentions the limited number of guitar players on this "quiz", well, it probably would've taken a LOT more work than he wanted to put into it. And just maybe, maybe, he falls into the category I described earlier.

I did it the first time and with answers I thought best fit me, I came up as Hendrix.

I did it again, using answers I thought were absolutely inane and opposite of me, I turned out to be Tom DeLonge. So, if Delonge, as per this quiz, doesn't care about the "tone" or only thinks playing is for "the fun" how is it that Fender made a guitar with his name on it?

Are the standards being lowered for todays music?

Oh, geez, This is too long. Starting to drift into things that may take actual thought
...gotta go...get...my meds...falling..getting blurry!

Because it's not about talent it's about exposure. People love Blink-182, I personally don't but there are lots of people who would buy a Tom Delonge signature model.

You are all about jamming and just making music. You are born for making music. When you make music, you like to be with people you know well so you have a feel for them. You are in the spotlight all the time. Cut your hair, hippie!
