I am not in a rush to tell you the songs I admire most about Rush. However, Rush is my favorite rock band. The following list goes in consecutive order from most favorite starting at 1:

  1. Big Money
  2. Spirit of the Radio
  3. YYZ
  4. 2112 Cverture
  5. The Big Wheel
  6. Fly By Night
  7. Dreamline

The aspect of Rush that I like most is the instruments and how they employ them. Synthesizers fill up the empty space and color the music, the drums are just astonishing, the guitar folds perfectly into the music, and the bass and vocals are both suitable for the music.

Rush is a positive band that doesn't need to use shocking music or profanity/descretation to be popular. They are popular because of the fact that their music is international and the fact that almost anyone would find it enjoyable to listen to.

What do you like about Rush?

I like that Rush is from Canada.

Woot! National pride!

Hey, so is Joni Mitchell, who there was some talk about recently as well.

It's good to see so many people enjoy Rush. Though you don't hear much about them, they are immensely popular, & rightfully so! I most admire the fact that they are balanced, all 3 of them play their instruments at the same level, no one overcrowds the other, yet no one sticks out like a sore thumb either. Very balanced! I like most of their music, Bytor & the Snowdog is good. Perhaps my favorite album of theirs is "All the World's A Stage", an excellent live recording. It captures them raw, but at their best. "What you're doing" off the live album may well be my favorite.

Like a few members have stated, well balanced, they have kept their egos in check.

I've seen these guys a couple of times live.
They sure can put a lot of sound out for a three piece band and it's not noise or sheer volume either. The lead player is one of the few "shredders" I can say that I hear the emotions and nuances in his playing. They are amongst my favorite progressive bands.
