My piano teacher died in '64 after about a dozen lessons. We were living in Germany, and a young guy came through our church en route to Spain, hitchhicking, and left this big-ass Spanish guitar at our house to hold for him. We then moved to St Louis, and he never came back for the guitar. So being piano-less, I started fiddling with it. But like Cass, James Taylor stuff kinda solidified my attraction to it. And for me, it was easier than piano. Easier to lug around, anyway.
