All strung out

my biggest problem, i can't keep a set of srings for any more than a week and a half with out the tiny, (well in my case the medium sized) E string poppin, i use to think something was wrong with my bridge until i had it checked then finally replaced i used to use DR pure blues 12's which as far as durabity goes they are top notch in my opinion i had the same set on my strat for 11 months with no problems whatsoever and now from the unknown scarcity of DR around these parts i've switched to GHS GB low 11's which i like but i always switch the 11 gauge E out for 13 or 14 gauge depending on what i got available. No matter what guage i use be it 11's,12's,13's,14's and once i even went with a 16 but it broke after about a week too. I'm real picky on my tone and some string brand seem to twangy for my taste. I love full rich sounds but i live for strings that i can bend the steel right out of. any info would be helpful, if it's just me and the way play which might be the case, i haven't ruled that out either some tougher strings than what i'm using would be nice. i'm so tired of spending 40$(exageration) a month for one string.

If you have 12's and 13's breaking that easy your either shreeding or you got a burr some where. How far from the bridge does the string break?
